I thought Rhapsody just went DRM free, or is that only for newly purchased songs? Yup, a quick google shows that in the last week they started offering DRM free stuff.

Does the old stuff convert or do you have to rebuy to get the DRM free? I thought it was supposed to be 256k, which should be plenty.

rhapsody lets you download drm protected copies of wmas for free...you just have to renew the license every now and then...

problem is, all my songs are on my cell, and they are all 4+ mb, instead of 2+mb if they were mp3s...

not to mention, the wma take some time (1.5 seconds) to load on the cell, and mp3 are instant...

so...

still need the software...

You can setup audacity to record whatever sound is being produced by a music program and turn that into an MP3.

FairUse4WM might work. It might not.

And it may have been replaced by FreeMe2

Of course you could have avoided all of this by simply pirating your music.

Try this...

SoundTaxi Platinum

The link is still good, the software is virus-free (according to NOD32), and the activator works (so far).
This program claims to remove DRM protection, however, I have not tested it on any DRM files (as I do not have any).
I have used it to convert a ripped wma file to mp3 format, and it was fast and easy.
A word of caution... it is only proven on XP... with Vista you will have to take your chances.

Good luck - I hope this solves your problem.

Cheap and easy....Old iTunes trick....Everybody has heard it before....

Burn the DRM'ed files to an AUDIO CD...Rip the AUDIO cd...Boom, bang..MP3s that are DRM free...

Quick and dirty...If you don't have a burner or you are too cheap to buy the media, use Alcohol 120% to make a virtual audio cd in memory and rip files from there...

As for any DRM removal tools...Um, that would be against the vaulted DMCA...JSYK...
